My Art Journal

The following write up is actually from inside this art journal - I thought it describes at best where I was coming from when I created it. Below that will be the front cover images plus the two inside pages where you can record your artwork information.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

As an abstract artist who creates a variety of different types of artwork from painting/drawing in a selection of media to ceramic sculptures and pots, with colouring books full of abstract designs in there somewhere too, I am definitely one of those who works ‘outside the box’ and seldom remembers to record anything about the work done. Chaotic, I believe the term is, in regard to any sort of system to record my work.  I think it boils down to the fact that I become so engrossed in the work and its completion that everything else fades into the background.  I am also an artist who literally paints, designs, sculpts etc. in, for want of a better word, batches.  I am almost driven to create quite a few pieces of artwork in the same media until that drive goes.  The next time it happens it will, more often than not, be in a totally different media, style etc. So thoughts of recording anything are overridden by the desire to create.

My problem is, and I doubt very much that I am alone in this, that I can never remember when I created the artwork, what its name is or, if sold, who I sold it to.

Ok so maybe some of you are much more organised than me and I congratulate you if you are.

However, for those of you, like me, who are very organised in the majority of life’s areas but totally disorganised in regard to the artwork you create, then I have created an Artwork Journal for you - and me - to record what you have done, the media used, when you finished it, what you have named it and finally, if sold, who you sold it to. Oh, and I have added a section at the bottom for any notes etc. that you feel need to be added to clarify your thoughts on the piece of work created.

What more can I say, enjoy getting organised!!
