Mother Earth retaliates?
This may be a little controversial but perhaps it needs to be said. I will start with a very important question.
What is Mother Earth and furthermore why should she retaliate?
Think long and think hard before you answer this question. If, as I believe, Mother Earth is a living being allowing us the privilege of living from her bounty, providing all that we need to live a full and happy life, how do you think she should react to the constant abuse and lack of understanding that she receives?
Yes we celebrate International Mother Earth Day but what else do we do to ensure that all that Mother Earth gives to us is important enough for us to take care of it all no matter how small or large it may be.
How can she make us understand her frustration?
What would a human do when angry and frustrated? Look back in history at the atrocities that have been vented due to anger and frustration. Now take a long hard look at what humankind is doing to this amazing planet and the animals who share this Mother Earth who grants us all life. Other animals do not destroy and kill as humans do - out of greed and jealousy without thought of the consequences.
What makes us think that we are superior to other 'animal species' on this planet? Under this label I include those of the ocean and those who work tirelessly beneath the earth to sustain the very soil upon which we live. How many other species hear better than us, see better than us, work together better than us, communicate for miles and miles without any technology?
What we as humans are doing at this moment in time is disastrous for all life on this planet. Did you at any time think as you cut down those amazing trees, destroying whole forests in order for your 'food' to graze, that without those trees we will no longer be able to breath? Have you at any time thought that so much food is produced to provide your 'food' with food that other humans are starving?
I am sure that you understand the reference 'food' in the paragraph above - the poor beings slaughtered by you in order to bring food to your table. Those beings who apparently have no feelings so it is ok to slaughter them. It is inhumane and not one other species on the planet does such a thing. The biggest question remains - once slaughtered how much of that 'food' is destroyed? How much do supermarkets throw away? Once again food thrown away while others are starving - it makes no sense and is sickening to anyone with any decency within them.
Think about how are oceans are full of plastic, sea life is being caught up and dying in plastic netting and ropes, birds are eating plastic - enticed by the colours - and dying from lack of real food. It is time to refuse to use plastic in as many areas as possible. Instead of taking the plastic bags offered at the supermarkets, come prepared with large plastic (those for long term use) bags for all of your shopping. I have two which I have been using for five years and they are still good to use. Make small bags from old netting or sheets for your fruit and vegetables when shopping instead of putting them in plastic. We can make a difference.
What about mining and fracking - we take and take and take things that have taken millions of years to form as if there will be an endless supply. Now when things are running low we think about other ways. Why now? Why have we waited until Mother Earth can no longer replenish all we have taken?
The soils of the earth are being destroyed and this process has been going on for years, thanks to the way food is farmed, this way of farming was acceptable after the second world war due to the smaller population and it not being the only source of consumption. Most people had their fruit and vegetables growing in the back garden. This no longer happens and unfortunately this way of farming continued, got bigger and bigger, and the consequences to the earth is reaching the point of no return. Unfortunately much of the soil is so depleted of nutrients that the majority of people do not know what to do about it. Chemicals, over the years, have been used to produce wonderful looking fruits and vegetables, to fatten up 'food', because that is what is expected, but at what cost? How does this affect the health of humanity? Chemicals are being substituted where natural foods should be. Could this be the reason behind much of today's ill health - consumption of chemicals through the food being eaten
Think about what is happening at this moment in time around the planet. Climate change, atrocious weather systems which cause horrific problems, volcanoes erupting, earthquakes, flooding, ferocious storms, continually happening and in places that have not experienced such things before.
What do you think Mother Earth is telling us?
Do you think perhaps she has had enough?
Do you think these things are wake-up calls for us?
How much more must she say for things to change?
How should she vent her anger and her frustration with those systematically destroying her?
PLEASE THINK VERY HARD ABOUT WHAT HUMANITY IS DOING TO MOTHER EARTH AND WHAT MOTHER EARTH HAS PROVIDED US WITH.
LIFE ITSELF AND ALL IT NEEDS ALONG WITH SUCH BEAUTY AROUND THE PLANET
Without her we are lost. Please remember that.
IT IS TIME TO CHANGE WHAT WE CONSIDER REALITY AND REALISE THAT HUMANITY ALONE WITH ALL THE TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCES AVAILABLE CANNOT SAVE THE EARTH AND OUR LIVES WITHOUT US DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CHANGES WE CAN MAKE TO ENSURE THAT MOTHER EARTH SURVIVES FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.
NO MATTER HOW SMALL, EVERY CHANGE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
IT IS TIME TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Please be aware that I understand for many, and that includes myself, there is little we can do to make a big difference but every little bit helps. This is me venting frustration that has been building up inside especially when confronted with all of the ‘natural disasters’ happening around the world. Am I the only to see the consequences of taking Mother Earth for granted and mistreating her so badly.
