Colour Me Happy

Hi everyone and big apologies for taking so long for a new blog post. I have been working on republishing my abstract colouring book created in 2017 as well as publishing a new one full of new abstract designs just waiting for someone to bring them to life.

I am not sure why it has taken so long to get my act together in regard to the second volume as I had it almost finished at least three years ago.

As the saying goes ‘life gets in the way sometimes’ and I had taken on my beautiful Harvey that year, not realising how his health and well-being would consume me as I tried to make his life as happy as I could. He was such a poor little boy, when I adopted him, who had been through hell and back, how could I not try and help. Losing him this year left such a hole not just in my heart but in that of my Bella’s. She has not really been the same since we lost him. It took quite a while before I felt able to do anything I must admit and Bella needed lots more attention than normal. Grief is a strange thing that leaves you drained and unable to think straight sometimes.

After nearly four months, I suddenly felt the need to fill that hole up with something creative . My gentle little soul Harvey will always remain in my heart but for Bella’s sake and my own I needed to get back to myself again. Being creative has always been an option as I tend to be able to lose myself within my creations, perfect for healing the soul.

I really was not sure in which way to channel this creative need until speaking to my daughter about the jigsaw puzzle I had bought her for her birthday. She was so enthusiastic about it and said perhaps I needed to colour some more of my abstract designs and make more jigsaws available through my Zazzle account. Brilliant idea and one I will be doing in the future, however, what this conversation did was remind me of the colouring book that laid incomplete in my office.

After a bit of searching I found twenty two ready images just waiting for me to add four more and complete the book. My original colouring book had twenty six images so I wanted at least that many. Several conversations later and a lot of work on the drawings to complete the book I made the decision not only to publish the new volume but to also totally revamp the first one and republish it.

All being well both of these books, now named Colour Me Happy, Volume 1 and Volume 2, should be up on Amazon, in a few days time, perfect timing for Christmas. If you are looking for a Christmas present that is a little different this might be just the thing. As soon as they are available to buy on Amazon I will put up the links on my Adult Colouring Book page so that you can check them out and order if you wish.
